OBJECTIVES OF THE FORUM
The forum was established primarily to oversee and supervise the effective administration of justice at the Independent Shariah Arbitration Panel (SHariah Court) that has been established in Oyo State on the 1st day of May, 2002 with its administrative office situate within Oja’ba Central Mosque, Ibadan.
The cardinal objectives of the forum are as follows:
- Appointment of Grand Khadi and Khadis of the Shariah Court
- Ensuring a conducive atmosphere for dispensation of justice by the Shariah Court
- Ensuring that the Shariah Court is discharging its function in accordance with its jurisdictional power.
- Provision of practice and procedure for the Shariah Court
- Zakat collection and distribution to reduce poverty among the muslims.
